And as a bonus, you have the view!<\/strong> <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n What are eelgrasses? <\/strong> Every year during the summer, the Arcachon Bassin Marine Natural Park<\/mark><\/a><\/strong> calls for volunteers for Collecting dwarf eelgrass seeds from a healthy herbarium<\/strong>. These seeds will be reintroduced into the sediment in spring<\/strong>, in areas favorable to the return of seagrass.<\/strong> The goal is to restart its colonization in areas that are no longer naturally supplied with seeds.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Bassin of Arcachon has a great diversity of Syngnathidae<\/strong> : nine species are observed there, including the long-snouted seahorses (Hippocampus guttulatus<\/em>), short-snouted seahorses (Hippocampus hippocampus<\/em>) and needlefish (Pipefish<\/em>)<\/strong>These species spend their entire lives there and are therefore considered to be part of the territory\u2019s heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n These are fragile species due to their low reproduction, their limited mobility and their habitat specificity.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Arcachon Bassin Marine Natural Park<\/mark><\/strong><\/a>, in partnership with theParticipatory observatory of biodiversity<\/strong>, co-organize diving sessions to better understand the lifestyle of these species, and then implement appropriate conservation actions.
