La Vélodyssée - From the North of Bassin d'Arcachon to the gateway to the Landes
You are on La Vélodyssée®, the Eurovéloroute n°1 which goes, in France, from Roscoff to Hendaye and constitutes one of the longest European routes mainly on dedicated lanes. You start this route at stage 5 of the itinerary "Le Tour du Bassin d'Arcachon". You will discover the Bassin d'Arcachon, a lagoon open to the ocean, which constitutes a small inland sea. Oyster farming, fishing and pleasure boating are the main activities of the basin. At its center is "l'île aux oiseaux" and its huts on stilts.
