The colours change, the light takes on a golden hue, and the pace slows down. It’s the perfect time to experience the region in a different light: quieter, more intimate, more authentic. With its flamboyant natural scenery, culinary delights and fresh, crisp air, autumn reveals another side to the Bassin.

Fancy hearing a secret? The most beautiful lights of the Bassin can be seen in autumn!

Lower, softer, more golden, they bring out the best in the Bassin landscapes from sunrise to sunset. The reflections on the water, the silhouettes of the pine trees and the oyster huts take on an almost surreal quality.

The sunsets there are particularly spectacular: Whether from a beach, a harbour or the Dune du Pilat, the end of each day becomes a moment suspended in time.

A word of advice: Take your time. It’s often when you slow down that you capture the most beautiful light.

Cycling the Bassin Circuit

Autumn, such as spring, are the two best seasons to discover Bassin and get started with Bassin cycle tour challenge !

With ideal temperatures and fewer visitors, it’s the perfect time to browse the 63 km of the Bassin cycle tour. In a day for for the more active, or as a touring holiday for those who want to savour every stage.

Between shaded cycle paths, oyster-farming ports, traditional villages and views on the Bassin, the route offers a complete immersion in the local area.

Not up for the full circuit? No problem – there are also several shorter routes (of varying lengths) available in the area! Everyone can go at their own pace, but one thing’s for sure : it’s well worth a visit.

A getaway to the forest… in search of mushrooms

When the woodland is ablaze with warm colours, The call of the wild becomes irresistible.

In autumn, the forests of Bassin are an ideal playground for walks in the great outdoors. Under the pine trees, amongst the ferns and the carpet of leaves, keep your eyes peeled: It’s mushroom season.
